SESSION DESCRIPTION

Join the Diocesan Youth Ministry Coordinators and the Director of Camp Wingmann for an engaging seminar, "Together, On Purpose: Coordinating Youth Ministry Across the Diocese." This session will explore how intentional collaboration strengthens youth ministry at every level—parish, camp, and diocesan. Discover the wide range of support available to churches and youth leaders, including ministry resources, diocesan events, camp programs, and leadership training. Together, the team will share their mission to increase understanding, visibility, and connection—working in partnership to elevate and enrich youth programs across the diocese.

The Rev. Garcia Barnswell-Schmidt

The Rev. Garcia Barnswell-Schmidt serves at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne.  In her capacity as Head Chaplain, she ministers to students, faculty, and staff and serves on the school leadership team. Her love for children and youth, and her passion to teach them about God and his love for them, drives her ministry at Holy Trinity forward. Additionally, she also serves as the Chaplain of the Diocesan Altar Guild and as a mentor to other school chaplains in the Chaplain’s Mentorship Program of the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES).

The Rev. Kevin Bartle

The Rev. Kevin Bartle serves as a Diocesan Youth Ministry Coordinator and has been rector of St. Mary of the Angels Episcopal Church in Orlando since his ordination in 2018. He holds a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and completed Anglican studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Passionate about forming the next generation in faith, Rev. Kevin leads diocesan youth events such as Soul in the City and New Beginnings and provides training and mentorship for youth leaders across the diocese. With a background in teaching, adolescent mental health care, and pastoral ministry, he brings a relational and compassionate approach to youth formation and leadership development.

 Mr. Joshua "JJ" Joseph

Joshua “JJ” Joseph serves as Executive Director of Camp Wingmann in the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida. Under his leadership, the camp has expanded partnerships, enhanced youth and family ministry, and strengthened its role as a place of faith and renewal. He is married to his wife, Angela, and together they have two sons.
